Chat & moderation policy
What chat stores, how it is limited, and what moderation can do about it
1.Where chat exists
There is a global chat room open to everyone, and a room attached to each multiplayer match. Both are public inside the platform: any signed-in player can read global chat, and match chat is readable by the participants. Chat is not private and not end-to-end encrypted — staff can read it when a report needs review.
2.What is stored
Messages are stored with their author, room, timestamp and body text. They are kept so that history loads when you join and so a reported message can be reviewed after the fact. Message bodies are rendered as plain text — markup in a message is displayed, not interpreted.
3.Rate limits and slow mode
Sending is rate-limited per account. If you hit the limit the server refuses the message and tells you how long to wait — that is a real server response, not a client-side trick you can bypass by reloading. Staff can enable slow mode for global chat, which raises the minimum interval between messages for everyone.
4.Blocking
You can block another player from the chat menu. Blocking hides their messages from you in both directions of the relationship and is enforced when messages are loaded, so it survives a refresh. Blocking does not notify the other player and does not prevent them from playing matches against you.
5.Reporting
Every message has a report action. A report creates a moderation case with the message, its author and the reason you selected, and optionally blocks the author for you immediately. Reports are reviewed by staff; filing false reports repeatedly is itself actionable.
6.Moderation actions
- Mute — you cannot send chat messages until the mute expires.
- Chat ban — you cannot use chat at all until it is lifted.
- Rank restriction — you cannot queue for ranked matches.
- Suspension — the account cannot play until the suspension ends.
- Ban — the account is permanently excluded.
7.Enforcement is server-side
Mutes and bans are checked when you try to send a message or start a match. Clearing your browser cache, opening a private window or editing the page does not get around them — the check does not live in your browser.
8.Appeals
Every action can be appealed through a support ticket. Staff can revoke an action, and the revocation is recorded against the original case with the reviewer who made the call.
