Plain-language rules for playing, competing and chatting here

1.Using the arcade

ZettaGames is a free browser game platform. You may play it for personal, non-commercial entertainment. You agree not to attack the service, not to attempt to forge or replay scores through automated clients pretending to be human, and not to scrape it in a way that degrades it for other players.

2.Anonymous accounts

There is no registration. Opening the site creates an anonymous account identified only by a secure cookie. You are responsible for that browser profile: if the cookie is cleared and you hold no recovery code, a new account is created on your next visit and the previous one becomes unreachable.

We never restore access by guessing who you are from an IP address or a device fingerprint. That is a deliberate safety decision, and it means a lost account without a recovery code cannot be returned.

3.Recovery codes

A recovery code is a bearer credential: anybody holding it can take over the account it belongs to. Treat it like a password. Codes are single-use, can be revoked at any time from the recovery page, and are stored only as hashes — we cannot recover a code you have lost.

4.Fair play and score verification

Scores are recomputed server-side. Each run begins with a server-issued seed; your browser submits the move log, and the server replays it through the same deterministic engine. Submissions that exceed per-game caps, contain illegal moves, or disagree with the recomputed score are flagged or rejected, and rejected runs do not enter leaderboards.

Honest limitation: the replay runs on data your browser sends us. A determined attacker with full control of a client can construct a plausible move log. Server replay raises the cost of cheating substantially, but it is not a guarantee against a crafted client. We would rather say this plainly than imply otherwise.

5.Competitive play, ranks and matchmaking

Ranked queues match you against other players using a rating-based search that widens its tolerance the longer you wait. Ratings are calculated by the server after a match ends; the client never reports a result or a rating change.

Custom rooms and bot matches are excluded from ranked play by design and cannot change your rating. When a queue cannot find a human opponent in time, the platform may offer a bot match — always labelled as a bot, never silently passed off as a person.

Deliberately losing to manipulate a rating, boosting another account, or abandoning ranked matches to dodge a loss are all treated as rating abuse. The remedies are a rating reset, removal from a leaderboard period, or a rank restriction.

6.Chat, names and conduct

Usernames are public on leaderboards and in chat. Do not choose a username that impersonates someone else or that contains hate speech, threats, or sexual content. We may rename or reset an abusive username and remove its scores without notice.

Global and match chat are public inside the platform. Do not post personal information about other people, do not harass, and do not use chat to organise abuse elsewhere. Messages you send can be reported and are retained for moderation review.

7.Moderation, suspension and appeals

Moderators can mute chat, restrict ranked play, suspend an account, or ban it. Every action carries a reason and an expiry where the action is temporary, and every action is written to an append-only audit log.

You can appeal any moderation action from the support page by opening a ticket. Appeals are reviewed by staff who were not the original decision-maker where staffing allows. Moderation decisions are enforced by the server, not by hiding buttons in your browser.

8.The blue check

A verified badge means this platform reviewed the account's activity and found it to be a notable, consistently active player. It is not a statement about anyone's real-world identity, and it carries no moderation immunity. It can be revoked.

9.Staff accounts

Staff sign in through a separate admin login with their own credentials and, for the highest-privilege roles, mandatory two-factor authentication. A player session never grants admin access, and staff actions are recorded with the acting account.

10.Availability and maintenance

The platform is provided as-is, without warranty. Games, leaderboards and features may change. We may place the site into maintenance mode; while that is on, gameplay pages are replaced by a maintenance notice while staff tooling stays available.

11.Data and deletion

How we handle your data is described in the privacy policy. You may request deletion of your account and all associated gameplay data at any time.

12.Changes

These terms may be revised as the platform grows. The most recent version always lives on this page.
